Getting started
What is DOT compliance, exactly?
"DOT compliance" is the catchall for federal Department of
Transportation requirements (mostly enforced by the FMCSA),
state DOT requirements, and adjacent rules like CARB (CA emissions).
It covers: keeping your operating authority current (MCS-150,
UCR), tracking vehicle inspections, qualifying drivers (CDLs,
medical cards, drug tests), and a long list of paperwork —
most with calendar-driven deadlines and real fines for being late.
What if I don't know my DOT number?
Look it up at FMCSA's
SAFER Company Snapshot
— search by company name or MC number. We can also look it up
during onboarding if you'd rather just give us your company name.
How fast can I get set up?
Most fleets are tracking the same day. Enter your DOT number,
vehicles, and drivers (10–30 minutes for a small fleet), and we
auto-populate the compliance items. No onboarding call required.
Compared to alternatives
How is this different from Compliance Protection at americantransdata.com?
Self-serve vs full-service.
- dotreadynow.com: dashboard + reminders. You take action. From $9/mo, plus per-vehicle and per-driver.
- americantransdata.com Compliance Protection: our team files MCS-150, schedules inspections, handles Clearinghouse queries, etc. You get a dedicated rep. Starts at $150/mo + per-vehicle.
If you want hands-on, go full-service. If you want visibility and control without paying for a service team, go self-serve.
What about ELD / Hours of Service tracking?
We track that you're ELD compliant — we don't replace
your ELD device or HOS recording. Continue using Samsara, Motive,
Geotab, etc. for the actual logging; we make sure you don't miss
ELD-related deadlines (annual recertifications, mandate
changes).
Will you file my forms?
No — dotreadynow tells you what's due and reminds you. You file
yourself (or via your existing agent). If you want filings done
for you, that's the Compliance Protection service at
americantransdata.com.
Coverage
Do you support all 50 states?
Federal rules: yes, fully. State rules: we currently cover
California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Ohio, and Texas, and we
add more regularly. If your state isn't covered yet, federal
items are still tracked and we'll let you know during signup.
Do you support intrastate-only operations?
Yes. We'll tailor the compliance list to your operating profile
(interstate vs intrastate, hazmat vs not, passenger vs property,
etc.). Don't pay for tracking what doesn't apply to you.
Billing & trial
Is there a free trial?
Yes — 14 days, no credit card required. Cancel before day 14
without ever being charged.
How do I cancel?
From your account settings — self-serve, no retention call
needed. Your data stays exportable for 30 days after
cancellation.
Security & data
Is my data secure?
Yes. Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and stored on
secure, US-based cloud infrastructure with automated backups.
Detailed security documentation is available on request.
Who else can see my data?
Only the users you invite (and ATD support staff, when you
request help). We don't sell or share your fleet data. See our
Privacy Policy for details.
Do you integrate with my TMS / accounting / ELD?
Not yet (we believe in being honest about that). Roadmap:
Samsara, Motive, McLeod, ProTransport — first integrations land
later in 2026. Tell us your stack at signup; we'll prioritize
the most-asked-for.
